Silk Painting 1/2 Day Work Shop

Detail from 'Ury House, Stonehaven'Tutor: Tracey Smith

Date: Sunday 23rd September 2012

Time: 10am - 2pm

Cost: £45 per person - includes all materials & silk paints.

In this workshop we will learn how to use silk paints with different techniques - salt, water & alcohol.

You don't need to have any painting experience as silk painting lends itself nicely to having a little bit of fun with  colour.

As always on my courses, we intend to learn something new in a fun & relaxed atmosphere.  Please feel free to bring along any outlined designs, pictures or photographs you wish to recreate in silk.  But don't worry, if you are not sure where to start - there will be plenty of designs that you can copy and draw inspiration from.  By the end of the class, you will have a finished piece of silk , which you can have framed, stitch on to a bag, or turn in to a cushion or wall hanging.  This class will have a maximum of 6 participants to allow for individual attention.

Mearns ArtHouse is located on Allardice Street, this is the street that runs through Stonehaven town centre. There is a pay per stay car park at Market Square (less than 2 minutes walk) and restricted parking on neighbouring streets. There are a variety of cafes, coffee shops, takeaways and a supermarket nearby where you can buy something for lunch, alternatively you are welcome to bring along a packed lunch to have in the shop.

To book you place on this course, please contact us by telephone on 01569 766080 or email
