Beginners Silk Painting

£40 per person (includes all materials required)

Dates: Tuesday 30th September 2014

Time: 7pm - 9pm

Create a beautiful silk painted scarf and small painted picture.

During this short introduction class you will have the opportunty to try out the diffirent techniques involved in silk painting.  You will use a dip-dye technique to create a colourful scarf.

To make a small silk painted picture you will introduced to the techniques of

  • stretching your silk on to a frame ready for painting.
  • Using gutta outliner.
  • Using wet on wet painting
  • Create paint effects using salt and alcohol

This class gives just a taste of what can be acheived using silk paints. You will take home your unique dip-dyed scarf and your silk painted picture which can then be made in to a card, sewn in to a cushion, wallhanging or simply framed.

Now that you know the basics of silk painting, you can then plan a larger piece of work. We also offer an Intermediate Silk Painting class, during which you can complete a larger project and learn further techniques. Please ask for details of this class date.

This class has a maximum of 6 participants to allow of individual attention.  Book early to avoid disappointment.
